In this role, you'll work closely with software development teams, designers, and other writers to support third-party developers by delivering clear, accurate, and targeted learning content. You'll be responsible for technical documentation for a variety of entertainment industry products, including 3ds Max and Maya. You'll have opportunities to research and communicate with your target audience, develop and test clear & useful code samples, create compelling tutorials, and lead creative projects. As an early user of new features and APIs, you will have direct input into the design and direction of our developer experience.
*Deliver clear, concise technical documentation, examples, and tutorials to support developers working with our product APIs and SDKs
*Connect directly with customers through forums, GitHub, and/or your own research initiatives
*Be the voice of the customer, providing feedback to internal development teams, working collaboratively to create stellar developer experiences
*Support adoption of software updates by maintaining up-to-date technical information that is consistently high quality
*Collaborate with other writers, maintaining and designing cohesive content standards, guidelines, and best practices for our products
*You have 5+ years relevant experience technical writing, managing documentation projects, and wrangling code samples
*You thrive at jumping into new technology, and making the complex seem clear to others
*You are enthusiastic about connecting with customers to gain an understanding of their needs and ensuring they can be successful with our products and services
*You have a strong sense of ownership with a bias for action and willingness to roll up your sleeves
*You have excellent communication and collaboration skills BA/BS or equivalent work experience
*Experience documenting APIs particularly for large enterprise and global customers
*Ability to write working code samples in an object-oriented language (such as C++, C# or Java)
*Creative and enthusiastic about media & entertainment-related industries, with the ability to inspire, influence and encourage others
*Strong technical aptitude and deep understanding of content management systems, including Git
*Demonstrate ability to use data to inform decisions and improve customer experiences
