SurveyMonkey is looking for a talented and experienced engineer who has a passion for solving challenging technical problems. We work closely with our product owners and our customers, iterating quickly to ensure we build the best solution for our users.
As part of our Enterprise team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the enterprise services. You will also be working with other engineering teams to enable SurveyMonkey to add more features and functionalities for our users.
*Build and maintain our enterprise services
*Top-to-bottom ownership of new features, including crafting technical specs, writing readable and extendible code, and keeping tabs on post-release metrics
*Participate in code reviews to validate best practices and logical designs
*Investigate and address issues with performance, scalability, and maintainability on both production and development environments
*Foster the spirit of continuous improvement and learning amongst fellow engineers
*Minimum of 5 years in backend programming experience in a professional environment (Python preferred)
*Experience with Python web frameworks, like Pyramid or Django; or for other languages, like Ruby on Rails
*Able to write efficient SQL queries and design schemas for relational databases (MySQL experience is a plus)
*Culture of code reviews, writing tech specs, and collaborating closely with other people (not a solo hacker)
*Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field
*Ability to work on in agile environments with frequent deployments
*Practices automated testing, believes and enforces good code quality and best engineering practices
Must be able to obtain and hold government security clearance at the Reliability level.
