We want a Senior QA Automation Engineer team member who is obsessed with being the “Voice of Quality”. Someone who can communicate, and articulate quality issues at daily agile standups leading quality on an agile team.
As a member of an agile feature delivery team the primary focus of this role is to bring quality leadership and insight which informs business and technical decisions during feature delivery. Our automation QA team members develop and own the testing plan, strategy and framework for all feature projects.
We need a new Senior QA Automation Engineer team member who can:
Be the voice of the team. You will represent your team, your role, and your purpose - Quality Assurance - on your Agile team.
Be articulate. You will articulate and defend testing strategies, tradeoffs, and decisions.
Be accountable. You will develop and own automated tests at the component and integration level.
Be focused. You will test and merge new features into the main development line.
Be detail oriented. You will maintain the automated regression test suite and documentation.
Be curious. If you think you can improve something, you’ll find a way to do it.
Be confident. You will thrive in an Agile environment.
Advocate for quality. You will work with the team to implement solutions.
And here’s how we know you are the next Senior QA Automation Engineer, you have:
Automation testing or tooling experience using RSpec, Mocha, MSTest, etc. A bonus would be Selenium WebDriver and/or Distributed Source Code Management tools such as Mercurial or Git.
An understanding and experience with at least one programming language.
Working knowledge of the Agile methodology. You can think on your feet, collaborate with your team and others, and you enjoy taking ownership for your work.
A curious nature. You want to solve problems in real time as well as before they happen.
A perfectionist streak. You want to be part of a team dedicated to creating and delivering quality software.
Outstanding communication. This is not a heads-down role. You will be working with a team that innovates together, out loud. And you will need to listen, engage, and present to external teams and senior project managers in a confident manner.
Drive. You can take the lead, decide what tests to run, when and how.
Pride. You enjoy your work and getting a job done well. You want to be part of a team that promotes their accomplishments and sees the difference they make.
