Junior Engineers

Our Junior Engineers are responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving our data connections to hundreds of financial institutions and vendors.

We have a diverse tech stack and foster a culture of experimentation. Here are some of the tools and languages we have worked with recently:

  • Go
  • Node.js
  • Postgres
  • Cassandra
  • Ansible
  • Terraform
  • Datadog
  • Electron
  • TensorFlow

  • Ensure the reliability of our document connections. You will work closely with our support and success teams, as well as our platform lead.
  • Work alongside co-op students and interns. As a full-time engineer, you will be their first point of contact on how to debug and resolve issues.
  • Commit to a process discipline that fosters product excellence, rapid iteration, instrumentation, and reflection.

    Skills And Requirements

  • Experience with at least one programming language. Most of the codebase you will work with is in Javascript (specifically, Node 4), but we do not require that you be a Javascript expert. If you have strong experience in another language (Ruby, Python, Java, Go, C, etc.) you will learn our codebase quickly.
  • Understand the difference between synchronous and asynchronous code, and where each approach is appropriate.
  • Know the difference between GET and POST requests, understand what cookies and headers do, and be prepared to tackle low level problems related to the HTTP protocol.
  • Be inquisitive and interested in solving challenging problems. Not every problem has an obvious or identifiable solution. You will need to tackle problems from multiple angles, and develop an understanding of why certain strategies succeed or fail.
