We are looking for a bright, mission-driven, education leader to join our team as an Adult Programs Manager

About the Role

This is a 14 month contract position, from June 1, 2020 through July 31 2021 to cover a maternity leave.

What Success Looks Like

  • We develop a strong national brand identity for each of the programs
  • Our delivery teams across Canada feel supported to deliver our programs
  • We grow our program teams across the country and reach associated learner targets

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategize and lead the growth of all the adult programs and signature events
  • Work with organizations, partners and community members to ensure that adult learning experiences are utilized and promoted across the country
  • Analysis data and incorporate learnings / insights to enhance the quality of our adult learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and volunteers to build and curate resources that ensure the learner’s experience reflects established best practices in adult learning
  • Research adult training and development best practices then incorporate relevant examples into our experiences
  • Create resources to support our delivery channels execution of our adult programs.
  • Support the Ladies Learning Code Chapter Leads and Chapter Manager in launch and delivery strategy for all adult programs.
  • Speak or attend conferences and other community events and act as an ambassador for Canada Learning Code’s adult programs
  • Manage new program pilots strategy
  • Manage program budget and develop program budget execution strategy

The position will require you to be self-directed, creative, innovative and flexible. We are looking for someone who has displayed strong leadership throughout their career to date, and who has brought an entrepreneurial flair to every endeavour that they have undertaken

About You

  • You have experience with budget management & know your way around a P&L
  • You have strong growth orientation
  • You have demonstrated marketing success driving positioning, consumer insights and innovative marketing programming including digital and social media
  • It would be an asset if you have new product development and innovation experience
  • You have a proven track record in growing an established business
  • You are a flexible team player and leader; confident in asking the right questions and being engaged to find positive solutions
  • You are comfortable problem solving and finding the answers to your questions resourcefully
  • You love to use online tools and technology to help you be effective and efficient
  • You can step in to make decisions and take ownership over a project with only some background information
  • You can manage multiple projects, collaborators, and deadlines.
  • You have a driven personality to see projects and tasks through to completion
  • You take initiative and are excited to come up with creative ideas as part of your job every day
  • Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in another language is an asset

Not technical? No problem. The first little while in this role will be a technical “crash course”, getting you trained on basic coding, on computational thinking principles, and on tools like Scratch. intended

Work Hours and Environment This is a full-time position. This role will work primarily from our HQ office space - an entire floor at Queen and University (right around the corner form a subway stop)! We like to work face to face but have a flexible and accommodating work location policy. We have an open concept workspace, meeting rooms and a kitchen plus lunch room!

This role may require some evening and weekend work. Some travel may be required.
