Canada Learning Code is a national not-for-profit organization championing digital literacy education, working nation-wide and across all sectors to equip Canadians with technical skills. To date, the organization has taught over 100,000 learners through their programs, which are offered in 35 cities across the country. Founded as Ladies Learning Code in 2011, the organization has evolved to run programming for adults, youth and educators through programs Ladies, Girls, Kids, Teens and Teachers Learning Code. Canada Learning Code’s goal is to create 10 million technology learning experiences for Canadians over ten years. We are looking for a mission-driven, experienced leader to join our team as a Program Delivery Lead, People & Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Chapter Community Team Members (150+ people in over 35 cities across Canada) feel close and connected to the Canada Learning Code brand through training, collaborative problem solving and directing our team to information
  • Ensure that administrative processes are reflective of the CLC brand
  • Screen, interview and train Chapter Leads and volunteers. Work with people and culture to manage recruitment pipeline
  • Work with people and culture and other cross-functional teams to develop training resources to support effective onboarding and ongoing execution of Chapter learning experiences
  • Ensure the Chapter Team feels adequately prepared to fulfil their duties Review, update and prepare any relevant Best Practice Documents Create any new resources or processes to support Chapter Team Support with recruitment and selection, onboarding and training, and ongoing management of Chapter Team Members Oversee administration of Chapters Support overall quality of programming through tools and processes
  • Coordinate annual holiday gifts, celebrations of anniversaries and other mailouts as required
  • Facilitate consistent check-ins with Chapter Leads and Teams in order to provide appropriate support
  • Support the creation and leverage Chapter reporting metrics to support data-driven decision making in the Chapters
  • Attend, when possible/necessary/economically feasible, Chapter experiences to provide support and encouragement - some travel may be required
  • Coordinate new Chapter launches, working closely with new Leads, and attending the first workshop delivered by a new team- travel may be necessary
  • Support Chapters in offering new program types by coordinating cross-functional HQ teams to support the successful training, support and launch of new programs (i.e. camps or PA Day)
  • Create supporting resources to support new successful launches, as necessary
  • Other responsibilities, as necessary

Work Hours and Environment This is a full-time position. Core working hours are 10AM - 4PM Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work outside these hours as you prefer and is needed to achieve goals. This role will work primarily from our HQ office space but our organization has a flexible workplace policy. We have an open concept workspace with flexible workspace options. We are open to a remote team member for this particular role.

Some evening and weekend work will be required. Some travel will be required.

This role reports to our CEO.

About You

  • You have strong experience in recruiting, training and 'managing' communities (ideally volunteers) for 2-3 or more years.
  • You take initiative to find answers to questions and solutions to challenges
  • You are result oriented and driven
  • You are a strong communicator and enjoy collaborating with people
  • You are flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with constant change
  • You are comfortable taking the lead on projects and facilitative discussion
  • You are organized and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities
