Founded as Ladies Learning Code in 2011, the organization has evolved to run programming for adults, youth and educators through programs Ladies, Girls, Kids, Teens and Teachers Learning Code. We are looking for a mission-driven, education expert to join our team as a Program Design Intern

About the Role

Our Program Design Intern will help Canada Learning Code develop a strong national brand identity and ensure our delivery teams across Canada feel supported to deliver our programs (Ladies Learning Code, Girls Learning Code, Kids Learning Code, Teens Learning Code, and Teachers Learning Code).

You must be enrolled as a full time student in an accredited college or university for the fall 2018 semester.

What Success Looks Like

  • Our Delivery Leads feel well supported with our Program resources
  • We have new and innovative programming in our Program Design & Development pipeline to help hold and maintain our position as a leader in digital education

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Design Team maintain consistency and stay organized across Programs
  • Assist the Program Design Team with completion of various tasks, as needed throughout the Program Design and Development cycle
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Program and Experience Guides
  • Support our Program Design Coordinator and our Content Design Lead with research on future skills and tools, platforms and languages for future adult and youth programs
  • Assist our Content Design Lead on the creation of new content for our Experiences and Programs
  • Conduct research data/insight analysis
  • Assist with the development of resources for educators, parents and volunteers (mentors)
  • Conduct learner interviews and assist in the development of ‘Personas’
  • Participate in new programming pilots
  • Assist our Program Manager’s with data analysis, research and insights
  • Assist the Program Design Team to ensure Delivery Partners are adequately supported to achieve their goals effectively and efficiently

Ultimately, this role will be shaped by the person who fills it -- you will help determine what strategies and efforts are required to get the job done. The position will require you to be self-directed, creative, innovative and flexible. We are looking for someone who has displayed strong leadership throughout their career to date, and who has brought an entrepreneurial flair to every endeavour that they have undertaken

Work Hours and Environment This is a full-time, contract position from June 25 - August 31. Core working hours are 10AM - 4PM Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work outside these hours as you prefer or is needed. This role will work primarily from our HQ office space but our organization has a flexible workplace policy. Our working environment is an alternative, open concept workspace.

Some evening and weekend work may be required. Some travel may be required.

This role reports to our Director of Program Design

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $700/week.
